Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies any response. We do not keep or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may automatically receive routine technical information about the visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- Browser name and version
- Referring website, when available
- Device category and operating system
- IP address assigned to the device
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help compile broad usage patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. A browser can reject or remove cookies, although disabling them may change how some website functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner service
- Finding and correcting technical faults
- Understanding which pages are useful or need revision
- Operating, securing, and improving page performance
- Displaying advertising that may reflect user interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Coke County Criminal History does not maintain, combine, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general instructions for reaching the Coke County sheriff and clerk, Texas DPS, TDCJ, local courts, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or profiles about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention schedules, and disclosure practices apply to information entered into those tools. We do not control those practices, so users should read the applicable provider policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Coke County offices, Texas agencies, courts, or outside search services. Once a user leaves this website, the destination's terms and privacy policy control. Review those terms before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing takes place through the provider's systems and policies.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be available to these limited recipients:
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
- Search providers processing a query submitted to their tool
- Advertising networks serving content on a page
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal requirement
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights can differ by place and circumstance. Texas public criminal-record access is governed in part by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, while criminal-history dissemination is addressed by Government Code Chapter 411. Those laws govern official custodians and do not turn this private site into a government records office. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Ask what personal information we retain about that visitor
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Seek deletion where applicable law permits it
- Opt out of certain processing when that choice is legally available
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal requirements change. A new version will be posted here with its updated effective date.
